Sekou Calliste, the founder and Managing Partner of Island Heritage Partners, brings 20 years of hands-on experience in international finance, entrepreneurship and business development.
Starting his career at Deutsche Bank in New York City, where his expertise in deal structuring and industry analysis flourished. This paved the way for impactful roles at Citi and Republic Bank Ltd., where he played a pivotal role in driving growth and innovation across diverse sectors. At the International Finance Corporation (IFC), he collaborated with global entrepreneurs in emerging markets, spanning continents and time zones to provide essential financial services, thereby bridging the gap for small and medium enterprises.

Sekou is an alumnus of Morehouse College, where he earned a B.A. in Business Administration with a Finance Concentration and a minor in Economics. He furthered his education at Harvard Business School (HBS), earning an MBA in General Management.

Residing in Springfield, VA, Sekou finds joy and fulfillment in family life, raising two wonderful children with his wife Taheera. Taheera is a Marketing Professional at a Washington D.C.-based firm. Hailing originally from the vibrant Caribbean island of Trinidad & Tobago, Sekou infuses his cultural heritage into his personal and professional endeavors.
